Artist Statement
When I create artwork, I see it as a relationship between how I see and experience the world, and the worlds I can create using my experiences. I find myself drawing from a wide range of inspiration for my work from the media I consume, which include the works of traditional painters like Lauren Harris or Rene Magritte, and cartoonists like Craig McCracken and Genndy Tartakovsky. With these influences in mind, I use a variety of art mediums to create colorful, expressive characters and environments. I love to explore themes of self-reflection and discovery, as well as providing viewers with a visual representation of my psyche through the use of color, symbolism, and atmosphere.
